Power conditioning is the process of filtering
raw or “dirty” electricity into clean, conditioned power. This
is very similar to the concept of purifying your drinking water
for better quality and taste or running your car on cruise control
for better gas mileage and less wear-and-tear.
Filtering electricity into clean, conditioned power provides
1) surge protection by eliminating the incoming surges and
spikes or “impurities” from the power lines and 2) helps to
improve operating efficiency by providing a smooth flow of
electricity of the proper voltage.
Surge Protection
Most power problems and equipment loss are the result of incoming,
or external, surges and spikes from surrounding businesses and homes.
Since it’s difficult to control the surrounding environment, we isolate
your business or home from its surroundings by installing our system at the electrical
service’s point-of-entry. This approach is far more effective than using
point-of-use strip protectors because our system protects the entire business and home
and, more importantly, is non-deteriorating.
Point-of-use strip protectors are typically deteriorating by nature, meaning
that every dissipated surge or spike degrades the circuit’s response time and
effectiveness. The lifespan of a typical strip protector is usually short and
just because the power light is on does not necessarily mean that it’s providing
effective surge protection.
Improved Operating Efficiency
Fluctuations and disruptions in the power supply such as surges and spikes
are often created when surrounding businesses and homes switch electronic
equipment on and off. These voltage irregularities are the equivalent to
“stop-and-go” traffic and are often times delivered directly to your home.
Filtering out these irregularities results in improved operating efficiency
and extends the life of virtually all types of electronic equipment, essentially
putting your home on “cruise control”.
