FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My business and home are already protected because I have surge protection through my strip protector extension cords.

The first misconception in this statement is that surge protection is power conditioning. Surge protection is actually just one part of the power conditioning process and isn’t an effective stand-alone solution.

The second misconception is that point-of-use strip protectors provide adequate surge protection. Most strip protectors are deteriorating by nature and typically lose effectiveness very quickly. They’re also limited in the sense that they only attempt to protect one small, specific part of the business or home.

Will this system help me save on my electrical usage?

Similar to energy efficient sun screens, window shades, lighting and upgraded insulation, running your entire business or home on clean, conditioned power helps to improve operating efficiency which in turn helps to reduce electrical usage. Sun State Engineering guarantees at least a 15% reduction in energy usage.

How does your system provide surge protection to my entire business and home?

We take a unique approach by installing our systems at the business or home’s main electrical meter. By installing our systems at the electrical service’s point-of-entry, we’re able to isolate the entire business or home from its surrounding environment, protecting all of the electronics housed inside from harmful external power problems such as surges and spikes.

I’m moving my business or buying a new home in 6 months so I want to wait to take a look at a system until after I’ve moved.

Sun State Engineering will move the system one time in the state of Arizona at no cost if you decided to move your business or home to a new location. If the new business or home requires a more expensive system, we’ll upgrade the system one time for free.

How long is the equipment warranty?

Every system comes with a parts and labor, lifetime, free replacement warranty.

Does the system need to be serviced on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even annual basis?

No. Our systems are non-deteriorating and do not require ongoing maintenance or service of any kind and will perform just as effectively 20 years from now as they do at the time of installation.

I can’t shut down the power at my business or home for an entire day while the system is being installed.

Shutting down power during installation is not necessary. No electrical downtime will be experienced and installations typically take less than 1 hour. Since most installations are done on the exterior of the business or home, being present at the time of installation is also unnecessary.
